The Alain Pinel Realtors (APR) Back To School Drive, running through August and early September, successfully raised funds and collected school supplies for local children in need. With all 32 APR offices participating in the program, the firm collected donations of backpacks, writing materials, arts and crafts supplies, and lunch boxes, along with cash donations.
The Back to School Drive benefited six different organizations by county:
- Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties: InnVision Shelter Network
- San Francisco County: Wish List of Marina Middle School
- Marin County: Homeward Bound of Marin
- Sonoma County: Baksheesh School Supply Collection for Third World Countries
- Alameda County: Tools 4 School, Alameda County CAPC
- Contra Costa County: Volunteer Emergency Services Team In Action (VESTIA)
“Our community is at the heart of everything we do. While our offices and agents are actively involved in giving back to their communities individually, there is something special about the synergy created by the generosity of the collective group,” said Rainy Hake, APR Executive Vice President.
Some highlights of donations included 20 new and filled backpacks along with $1,300 from the firm’s San Francisco office, 60 full backpacks and $1,400 from the Palo Alto office, and 50 full backpacks from the Burlingame office. Additionally, over 80 backpacks and $400 were raised for Contra Costa County, and 18 backpacks filled with $800 worth of supplies were collected for Marin County.
“As the only locally owned and operated real estate firm with a presence in every Bay Area county, local education is very important to us,” said Hake. “Additionally, we have plans for various other community initiatives including a bay clean-up day, food drive, homeless outreach, and more to help keep us inspired as active participants in our communities.”
