Does it work?
Many of the Alain Pinel Realtors advertising campaigns feature our web address as "apr.com". Recently we have received a number of questions and problem reports about whether or not this simplified description of our URL will get you to the www.apr.com website.
The answer is YES, and here's why.
The apr.com domain name will successfully "resolve"
(that's the technical name for it) to our website, when it is used on a computer that is NOT on our network. Try it from home, or a non-APR computer and you'll see what I mean. This has been extensively tested, so if you type apr.com
from an ordinary computer that is not in an APR office you should end up on our site. If you don't, there's probably something wrong with the individual computer.
Now here's the fine print for you techies in the audience: If you have tested the apr.com
URL from within an APR office, you have probably noticed that it DOES NOT work. That is because you are inside of our network domain, and the domain name
is not resolved in the same manner as when you are on the outside. There's plenty more info about this on the Wikipedia, which is linked to several parts of this posting above.
So rest assured that all of those ads, print pieces and company banners have the correct web address. Consumers who type apr.com
on their home computer will, in nearly all cases, end up on the www.apr.com
